Dear Grandpa,

I want you to know that I will be praying for you. I will be praying for you as you grieve for Grandma Ruthie. As we all miss her it is good to know that God is the great Comforter. He watches over us and comforts us during this time as it says in Psalm 34 verse 18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed." We all loved her very much and through Jesus we have hope that one day we will join her again in heaven. We need not despair, as 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 says. "Brothers and sisters, we don’t want you to be ignorant about those who have died. We don’t want you to grieve like other people who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and came back to life."

We also believe that, through Jesus, God will bring back those who have died. They will come back with Jesus.
"Grandma Ruthie lived her life for the Lord and even in death glorified Him. Her death was blessed in His sight. Revelation 14:13 "And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them! ”Grandma Ruthie lived for Christ. She inspired so many people by her strong witness. Her waking and her sleeping all were used to the glory of God. She had such a wonderful testimony; even in the way she lived her life. I only knew her for 13 years but in those 13 years I deemed her one of the most godly women I have ever known.

As I said before, her waking and her sleeping, her life and her death, were all used to the glory of God. Romans 14:8 "For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s." Her entire life was one big testimony of the love our Savior has for us and how he gave his life that we might live.  I know that Grandma Ruthie is more happy now than she could ever be on this Earth. She lived for Christ and is now enjoying his presence. She gets to worship our Savior and delight in Him eternally.  She is enjoying the full benefits of eternal life in Christ. Proverbs 12:28 "In the path of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death."

Grandma Ruthie is now enjoying a body without infirmity or disease, there is no sorrow, no pain. She is enjoying eternal bliss and joy delighting in the presence of her Savior, her Lord, and her King. Her Father in heaven has prepared a place for His faithful servant. Grandma Ruthie is in the heavenly paradise. Luke 23:43 "And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." We can rejoice in the fact that she is with our blessed Savior and that one day we will join her too! We can take great comfort in this! We can thank God that through Christ we can enjoy perfect glory for all eternity! Praise God! I love you Grandpa and I will be praying for you!

Love, Rachel
