Gerry & Julie Gutierrez' Update

Simeon On The Other Side
Of The Valley Of The Shadow Of Death!

Behold the answer of our feeble prayers and the intercessory prayers of our Lord Jesus on behalf of us who believe and belong to Him.

Dearest Friends;

It is only fitting, proper and right at this time for us who prayed in agreement for Simeon, to praise and thank our God and Father in Heaven in the name and authority of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit

“Glory and honor, praises and thanks are to your name Holy Father for your answer to our prayers. Even though it was Simeon the recipient of your favors, it is us whom you have encouraged and united in the spirit of prayer that we may grow in boldness and confident faith and believe that all things are only a prayer away to them who believe”.

“May you, who restores health and removes aches and pains from our bodies, remove also aches and pains from our hearts and souls by granting order lives and homes so we can serve you better.”

“May the ever prevailing and immutable will of God be done in our live in spite of us to the glory of His name. Amen”.

Your always needy of prayer brother.

Gerry Gutierrez

Subject: [Update on Simeon] We are home!

Dear Friends,

In June of 2013, our son Simeon's life was at risk when he was born in Bogota, Colombia via emergency c-section, due to a quickly dropping heart-rate from a prolapsed cord. Never at that moment would we have imagined that slightly over a year later he would have major surgery done on his tiny skull!

Our Father sustained us all then as he has now, and by his grace he not only spared his life again, but spared Simeon from any complications in surgery.

As of yesterday (Friday), we are home (early-than-expected) with Simeon and he is doing wonderfully. His bleeding has ceased, his swelling is decreasing, he can open both eyes at least a little, and he is already back to babbling happily and laughing hysterically at his brother and sister.

Though Simeon had a team of eight doctors and two nurses attending him throughout surgery, our peace came from God mightily acting on your prayers. Each step along the way, we watched as God used doctors, churches, family and friends to support and encourage us. We are forever indebted to you for your generous prayers and care of us.

Over the next 4-6 weeks we will care for Simeon's wounds here in the US and do all we can to get him back to 100%. He now has multiple "soft spots" that need to fill in over time and that need constant guarding from corners and chairs as he is already trying to walk! We will be returning to Children's hospital over this period of time to ensure all went well.

We've attached are a few pictures of our time in the hospital. The swelling can be difficult to look at, and I've also included a few pictures from the CT scan displaying the amazing and complex work done on his skull. (If you would refrain from posting these pictures on the internet, we would be grateful - to guard Simeon's privacy). Thank you so much! [They are not attached!! Ed.]

With full hearts,

Nathaniel (for the family and especially Simeon)
