Gerry & Julie Gutierrez' Update
Dearest Friends and Prayer warriors;
Our Lord has gathered together an army of prayer warriors along with you that nothing may go wrong with the surgery and Simeon himself.
We took advantage to add our personal needs at the tail end of those prayer requests that our Lord is merciful answering. We slept last night for 7.30 hours like a logs.
Julie and I are looking forward to joining Nathaniel and Alicia to minister to them and attend to them in the post surgery time. According to Nathaniel it is the best time to support them.
Please Keep us on the front burner of your prayers!

We just talked to the nurse practitioner at the anesthesia department and based on what we reported about Simeon's continuing cold, we are still going to proceed with the surgery for Friday but with the warning that when we get up there, the anesthesia team could declare him still unfit for surgery that day and we would have to reschedule. It seems like the best option - he still has two days to recover and we can still plan on having the surgery Friday. Please pray that this cold goes away! It is one of those that is really hanging on, which normally wouldn't be a problem, but could create a very serious complication in surgery.
The lab results came back this morning too, also indicating that Simeon's cortozal (?) hormone, the one that regulates stress, is lower than what is considered low - 4.5 is low, and Simeon's numbers came back at 3.2. The team of doctors are discussing this right now to determine if he needs to be tested in the morning (rather than the afternoon like he was) and what course of action needs to be taken. We were told on Monday that if he cannot regulate his stress well, he won't be able to handle the surgery, but I don't know what that timeline would look like from there.
Thank you for your prayers and support and for caring about our little boy. It means a lot that we can come to you all with these prayer requests and that you are bringing our family to the Lord.
