Gerry & Julie Gutierrez' Update
January 14, 2015
This morning my mind began to think thoughts and I decided to send them to you hoping that as you read between the lines it may trigger other thoughts from God in you.
Lord, give me your spirit, to think like Jesus the eternal thoughts of God. The Eternal dwells in the mind. You can transplant the heart not the mind. The heart is food for the worms. The memory of the mind is forever. Jesus the bread of life is food for thought as bread is food for the stomach. "As a man think, so is he" they say. Watch, the battlefield is in the mind.
In loneliness and calm under a silent storm a man learns to listen to God. His mind thinks thoughts that lead him to the even growing holy habits. Holy habits exercised become character that makes a man’s life a prayer. While others slept, Jesus as man prayed silently to his father overnight.
To stay in alignment with the will of God was the aim of Jesus’ prayers.
A hunter pulls the trigger in a second but to aim carefully, takes longer. The invisible things of the mind are made clear by the actions of the body. What I do is reflection of what I am, because I am what I think in my mind. Psychology reflects Ideology just as much as behavior reflects our character.
I am mindfully thinking of you good thoughts and praying.
PS. It is said that Commodore Vanderbilt died and a worker asked another.
“How much did the old man leave?” The other replied: “Everything”!
Even though this is logically true that we do not take with us even our tattoos; there is one thing that passes through the Customs of Heaven and Hell…and that is our “Memory”.
In Luke 16: 24-25 we read the parable about Lazarus and the rich man in Hell.
24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’
What is worse for those in Hell will be to look and see the “Good for nothing” believers comforted in Heaven. Let us remember to love and take care of one another today.
